NAFEM ’07 features interaction and education

ATLANTA —Foodservice operators, manufacturers and other industry professionals mixed it up in social and educational settings, as well as on the equipment and supplies exhibit hall floor, during the NAFEM Show 2007 at the Georgia World Congress Center here Oct. 11-13.

The show, which is staged by the North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers of Chicago and was co-located for the first time with the FS/TEC foodservice technology exposition, kicked off with a “Global Networking Event” reception at the Georgia Aquarium, giving attendees from both conferences a chance to stroll among sharks, jellyfish and other sea creatures. —Foodservice operators, manufacturers and other industry professionals mixed it up in social and educational settings, as well as on the equipment and supplies exhibit hall floor, during the NAFEM Show 2007 at the Georgia World Congress Center here Oct. 11-13.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee John Fogarty, formerly of Creedence Clearwater Revival, was the entertainment headliner for the “All Industry Celebration” in the Thomas Murphy Ballroom on Oct. 12, but NAFEM award winners stole the show.Thomas C. Cassin, vice president of Pitco-Magikitch’n of Concord, N.H., was presented NAFEM’s highest honor–the William W. Carpenter Award–in recognition of his contributions to the association’s success and the enrichment of the industry at large. Rick Cartwright, vice president and general manager for the retail systems division of ITW Food Equipment Group of Troy, Ohio, received NAFEM’s President’s Award recognizing a nonelected association volunteer who has donated time and expertise for the betterment of the group. —Foodservice operators, manufacturers and other industry professionals mixed it up in social and educational settings, as well as on the equipment and supplies exhibit hall floor, during the NAFEM Show 2007 at the Georgia World Congress Center here Oct. 11-13.
