Michael Symon to open two new casual restaurants

CLEVELAND Celebrity chef Michael Symon said Friday he has signed deals to open two new restaurants in the Cleveland area, where he already operates his Lola and Lolita restaurants.

Bar Symon, to be located in Avon Lake, Ohio, will be an American brasserie featuring Midwestern comfort food such as sausage, pickles, pork cracklings, pot pie and wood-grilled meats. Symon also plans to have some 40 American craft beers on tap.

In Woodmere, Ohio, Symon has taken over a former Cold Stone Creamery location and plans to open the B Spot — standing for burgers, beer and bratwurst.

Both eateries will be more casual and have lower price points than his other Cleveland restaurants.

Symon also operates a rotisserie-focused restaurant in Detroit called Roast. In 2006 he had a short-lived venture in New York, a Greek restaurant called Parea.
