Metromedia group debuts 29 Degree Tavern concept

FORT WORTH TEXAS —Metromedia Restaurant Group of Plano, Texas, parent to the Bennigan’s and Steak and Ale chains, debuted a 220-seat concept here called 29 Degree Tavern that it intends to expand to other locations.

MRG’s casual-dining division already has suburban versions of the concept—Plano Tavern and Southlake Tavern—in the area, and it calls the 29 Degree concept “an evolution.” The name comes from the ideal temperature for serving beer. —Metromedia Restaurant Group of Plano, Texas, parent to the Bennigan’s and Steak and Ale chains, debuted a 220-seat concept here called 29 Degree Tavern that it intends to expand to other locations.

The menu includes such appetizers as Philly cheesesteak rolls and seared ahi tuna nachos and such entrées as sirloin and hickory-grilled double-cut pork chops. Among the sandwich options are a chipotle burger and a prime-rib panini.
