OAK BROOK Ill. McDonald’s Corp. has partnered with Lucasfilm Ltd. for the first time and launched a Happy Meal promotion tied to the release of the animated movie “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.”
The promotion, which will run through Sept. 11, features 18 bobble-head toys based on characters in the movie and in the original “Star Wars.”
To complement the in-store promotion, McDonald’s has debuted a Happy Meal Virtual World on www.happymeal.com, where kids can create personal play experiences and embark on a “Jedi quest” featuring characters from the new movie. Special codes on Happy Meal packaging will enable visitors to the site to unlock six additional Jedi quests. The site will be available through Sept. 10.
