Lenny's signs Cybera for network support

News

MEMPHIS Tenn. Lenny's Franchisor LLC based here, parent of the growing 115-unit Lenny's Sub Shops chain, is deploying systemwide Cybera Inc.'s high-speed, private network technology incorporating multiprotocol label switching, or MPLS.

Nashville, Tenn.-based Cybera said its SmartNetwork service was selected by Lenny's following a request for proposal process and five-month test. Nearly 70 Lenny's Sub Shops units were up and running on the broadband network in recent weeks and plans call for the systemwide deployment to be completed by midyear, the vendor said.

"Cybera's SmartNetwork provided an affordable, reliable and managed networking solution that would give us a centralized point-of-sale system and allow our franchisees to monitor sales and other information," said Anita Howald, director of information technology for Lenny's Franchisor. According to Cybera, Howald is crediting the new network with helping reduce credit card authorization times from 30 seconds to three seconds.
