Lawson: Jack in the Box automating HR processes, moving to 'pay cards'

SAN DIEGO Jack in the Box Inc. based here, with about 45,000 employees, is leveraging its Lawson Human Capital Management software by automating paper-based processes tied to administering annual employee benefits enrollment and paycheck distribution, Lawson Software indicated.

St. Paul, Minn.-based Lawson said its Employee and Manager Self-Service and ProcessFlow Integrator applications were licensed by Jack in the Box, operator and franchisor of a 2,088-unit namesake quick-service chain, 344 Qdoba Mexican Grill restaurants and 57 Quick Stuff convenience stores.

 

 

Those applications will permit Jack in the Box to centralize and automate enrollment management and check distribution and give employees self-service access to view and maintain their own human resources information, Lawson sources said. They added that once that software is deployed, Jack in the Box will replace paper paychecks with plastic "pay cards" that employees can redeem for cash at local banks or use like a debit card, thereby lowering JITB costs by eliminating the need to print, cut and distribute paper paychecks.
