WINSTON-SALEM N.C. Krispy Kreme Doughnuts said it would give away a free doughnut to any customer who comes into a store on Election Day wearing an "I voted" sticker.
The special doughnuts -- which are star-shaped and covered in red, white and blue sprinkles -- will be available only on Election Day next Tuesday. The promotion is good for one doughnut per person.
"Krispy Kreme encourages everyone to take part in this historical election and vote," Ron Rupocinski, the chain's chef, said in a statement.
Krispy Kreme, based here, operates or franchises nearly 500 units worldwide.
