Krispy Kreme appoints ops SVP

WINSTON-SALEM N.C. Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. has hired McDonald’s veteran Cindy Bay as its new senior vice president of company store operations, the company said Wednesday.

Bay most recently was vice president of operations for McDonald's Corp., where she oversaw 670 restaurants generating more than $1.2 billion in sales. Krispy Kreme officials said that Bay boasts more than 25 years of experience in multiunit training operations.

"We are pleased Cindy Bay, a special individual with an outstanding background and track record at one of the world's premier quick-service restaurant operations, is joining the Krispy Kreme team," Jim Morgan, Krispy Kreme's chairman, president and chief executive, said in a statement. "I am confident she will have a major positive impact on our company store operations as we continue to move forward in our ongoing transformation."

Krispy Kreme, based here, operates or franchises 470 restaurants.
