Jack in the Box debuts grilled breakfast sandwich

SAN DIEGO With a growing number of quick-service players adding to their breakfast menus, Jack in the Box on Monday introduced a new grilled breakfast sandwich.

The new item extends the San Diego-based chain’s new grilled sandwich menu, which debuted in February and includes a Deli Trio and a turkey, bacon and cheddar variety.

The new breakfast sandwich includes two fried eggs and two slices each of American cheese, ham and bacon on premium artisan bread. It is available at participating restaurants throughout the 2,200-unit chain for a recommended price of $2.99.

“We’re leveraging the popularity of our Grilled Sandwiches and new artisan bread to expand our breakfast menu with a product that’s unique among fast-food restaurants,” said Tammy Bailey, Jack in the Box Inc.’s division vice president of menu marketing and promotions.

Several fast-food chains have introduced or ramped up their breakfast offerings, including Subway, Dunkin' Donuts and Burger King.
