Del Taco shifts marketing team

LAKE FOREST Calif. Del Taco has realigned its marketing staff, promoting its head of field marketing and adding a senior-level position.

Brian Moriarty has been promoted to senior director of brand marketing and advertising. Moriarty, who has been with Del Taco for more than five years, most recently led field marketing and corporate communications. He will now head the chain’s strategic planning and execution of advertising and promotions.

John Cappasola was hired for the new position of vice president of marketing development. He will be responsible for planning, testing and executing all marketing programs, including promotions and product introductions. Cappasola also will be responsible for field marketing, including supporting restaurant openings, markets and competitive intelligence.

Before joining Del Taco, Cappasola spent 16 years with Blockbuster in market sales development, field marketing and other positions.

Cappasola and Moriarty will report to Sharon Fogg, senior vice president of marketing.

Del Taco operates or franchisees more than 510 restaurants in 16 states.
