LOS ANGELES California Pizza Kitchen on Monday launched its second annual Thank You Card program, a move to increase traffic by offering customers a chance to win prizes of up to $50,000 in cash on a return visit.
The program, which company officials credited with lifting same-store sales during the second quarter of 2008, is scheduled to last through June 30. CPK will give out 2.7 million sealed envelopes containing a prize to customers at their more than 200 full-service restaurants.
The envelopes can only be opened by a CPK manager on a subsequent visit. In addition to cash awards, prizes include a trip for two to Cancun, Mexico; a trip for two to Beverly Hills, Calif.; free frozen CPK pizzas for a year; dinner for two; and discounts for a future CPK visit.
“Our loyal customer base made last year’s Thank You Card program a tremendous success,” said Rick Rosenfield and Larry Flax, co-founders and co-chief executives of CPK. “This year, we’ve added more great rewards and doubled the amount of the grand prize to $50,000. The Thank You Card program is our way of thanking guests for their loyalty and offering them an irresistible reason to join us at CPK again.”
CPK operates, licenses or franchises 250 restaurants, including 27 international locations and 27 limited-service CPK ASAP variants. The company also has two locations of its secondary concept LA Food Show Grill & Bar.
