Cold Stone Creamery names Beem president

SCOTTSDALE Ariz. Cold Stone Creamery has named Dan Beem president, succeeding Jim Flaum, who left recently to work on his family-owned Teakwoods Tavern & Grill.

Beem most recently was Cold Stone’s vice president of profitability, and he has been with the company four years. He has worked with Planet Hollywood, T.G.I. Friday’s and Gordon Biersch Brewing Co. He also operated his own restaurant for two years.

Doug Ducey, chief executive for the Kahala-Cold Stone holding company, said Beem’s “understanding of Cold Stone Creamery operations along with his experience serving the franchisee community will surely yield positive results for the brand.”

Cold Stone Creamery has more than 1,400 locations in the United States as well as in China, Guam, Japan, Korea, Puerto Rico and Taiwan.
