Charo Chicken asks consumers to vote for new sauce

HUNTINGTON BEACH Calif. Charo Chicken has launched an online “Flavor Fever” campaign, which allows consumers to select additions to the fast-casual chain’s menu of permanent sauce flavors.

The one-year campaign, which begins Oct. 15, will include three voting periods for new sauces designed to complement the chain’s core chicken products. The website, www.charochicken.com, will include flavor descriptions and live updates with voting tallies.

Flavors in the first round of voting include Chipotle BBQ, Teriyaki Citrus, Spicy Orange and Mango Pineapple.

“Consumers have repeatedly identified flavor as a key point of difference with our product,” said Ray Perry, president and chief executive of the 22-unit chain.

When they vote for a flavor, consumers can enter a sweepstakes to win $250 gift cards or the grand prize, a cruise worth up to $5,000.
