Charlie Trotter to develop inflight menu

CHICAGO Celebrity chef and restaurateur Charlie Trotter is working with United Airlines to develop dishes bearing his name for premium-level service on the carrier’s transcontinental flights, starting this summer.

The branded selections will also be offered in the first-class and business cabins of United eastbound international flights.

"Offering an upscale menu for our customers traveling in our premium cabins is one of the many ways we are enhancing our customers' overall travel experience," said Charlie Ahmes, United's vice president of Onboard Service.

Trotter is in the process of working with United's corporate chef Gerry Gulli to develop the menu, according to United.

The airline operates more than 3,700 flights a day to more than 210 domestic and international locations.
