Charley's names new VP of marketing

Mike Cassar will replace James Pa as the new vice president of marketing at Charley’s Grilled Subs, the company said Friday.

Prior to his new position, Cassar served as chief marketing officer for EAS Technologies. He also has extensive experience in building brand equity for companies including Ford Motor Company, IBM and XM Radio.

“Everything Mike does begins and ends with the consumer,” Charley Shin, founder and chief executive of Columbus, Ohio-based Charley’s, said in a statement. “Mike shares our passion for hot, fresh food and our vision for the brand, and I’m confident that Mike’s experience and consumer-focused approach will help lead Charley’s in the right direction.”

At Charley’s, Cassar will be responsible for bringing the brand’s personality to life, the company said.

“Charley’s is an outstanding company with a tremendous following and superior food,” Cassar said in a statement. “The foundation is all here; we just need to spread the word and bring the qualities that make Charley’s such a unique experience to life. I’m thrilled to use my expertise to help communicate this message to the consumer, and I am excited about what’s in store for the company.”
