Bojangles' turns to wireless broadband for card WAN

News

CHARLOTTE N.C. Wanting to speed up credit card authorization, but unable to efficiently secure conventional broadband services for company-run restaurants, Bojangles' Restaurants Inc. based here hired wireless data specialist Accel Networks LLC, BRI officials indicated.

BRI operates more than 140  Bojangles' Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits quick-service restaurants in five states and franchises more than 200 to others. The company's director of store systems Rusty Patterson credited St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Accel for being " willing to provide flexible service and think 'out of the box' to meet our requirements for broadband processing using a dial-based software platform." His company self-installed network components at its units in less than 30 minutes, he indicated.

Patterson said his company worked with Accel because the franchisor could not source DSL or other broadband connectivity in an efficient manner and without dealing with a large number of small carrier companies. He noted that the private Accel wireless network developed for his company is certified as meeting Visa USA's Cardholder Information Security Program standards, as well Payment Card Industry data security guidelines.
