ATLANTA Fifth Group Restaurants here, following talks with menu makers at its catering company and six upscale casual locations, became the city’s first full-service operation to eliminate trans-fats from all menu items, according to partner Robby Kukler.
The transfat cleansing extends to biscuits served at the group’s two South City Kitchen unit, said Kulker, noting the action grew out of health concerns and evidence that trans-fat does not influence taste. FGR’s other establishments are La Tavola Trattoria, The Food Studio, Sala-Sabor de Mexico and Bold American Catering.
