Agilysys acquires InfoGenesis

News

BOCA RATON Fla. Technology consulting and services provider Agilysys Inc. based here has acquired for $90 million in cash InfoGenesis of Santa Barbara, Calif., a point-of-sale and back-office software and services supplier to foodservice operators, casinos and resorts.

The seller was equity investor Warburg Pincus, which acquired control of InfoGenesis for an undisclosed sum two and a half years ago.

InfoGenesis customers include: multiunit, bicoastal, fine-dining restaurateur Charlie Palmer, of Aureole fame; American Airlines Center of Dallas; and contract feeder Compass Group, whose The Americas division is based in Charlotte, N.C.

Sources at publicly traded Agilysys said InfoGenesis, with annual revenue of about $42 million, "will be integrated into Agilysys' existing hospitality solutions business."  They said the addition of InfoGenesis expertise and products, including hosted systems and above-store reporting capabilities, gives Agilysys clients access to a wide range of operational technologies and services and provides Agilysys with seamless integration between property management, POS and inventory and procurement technologies.

Agilysys serves the hospitality and retail markets, citing expertise in the areas of enterprise architecture, infrastructure optimization, storage and resource management and business continuity, among others.  Among the companies using Agilysys, which reports annual revenue of about $475 million, is casino and resort operator MGM Mirage of Las Vegas.
