Agilysys acquires Eatec

News

BOCA RATON Fla. Software, consulting and services firm Agilysys Inc., based here, has acquired for $23.2 million, net of cash, Eatec Corp. of Emeryville, Calif., a developer and marketer of inventory and procurement management systems with annual revenue of about $8 million.

During the past 13 months, Agilysys, which sells to the foodservice, lodging, casino and club markets, among others, also acquired InfoGenesis, a point-of-sale and back-office software and services supplier, and Visual One Systems Corp. Visual One developed and marketed Microsoft Windows-based software for property management, POS systems, and sales and catering management.

“Similar to our previous acquisitions of Visual One Systems and InfoGenesis, the Eatec acquisition complements and expands our offerings, allowing us to better serve our customers,” said Arthur Rhein, chief executive of publicly traded Agilysys. Eatec’s Web-based EatecNetX software, with core functions cover purchasing, inventory, recipe, forecasting, production and sales analysis, will be offered in stand-alone mode and interfaced with Agilysys’ point-of-sale offerings, Agilysys said.
