The Los Angeles Convention Center will soon host Franchise Expo West, the premier franchise event in the western U.S., Thursday, Nov. 2 through Saturday, Nov. 4. Becoming the epicenter of small business opportunities, the expo provides an ideal platform for entrepreneurs from a wide range of backgrounds and ethnicities to get on the fast track to business ownership.
Throughout the three days, expo-goers are encouraged to take advantage of an event designed to energize entrepreneurial spirit. Attendees will have the opportunity to jump in at the ground level with highly reputable franchise concepts and meet face-to-face with executives from more than 200 proven franchise brands. The top five franchises by established growth in 2017 include personal services, quick-service restaurants, full-service restaurants, retail products services, and business services – all of which will be represented at the expo at investments starting as low as $10,000.
“Franchise Expo West has a business opportunity for everybody. The show is responsible for opening numerous small businesses and creating hundreds of jobs – and there’s no better place for that to take center stage than Los Angeles,” said Tom Portesy, President and CEO of MFV Expositions, producer of Franchise Expo West. “Hosting the expo in Los Angeles allows us to capitalize on the city’s booming economy while being accessible to qualified prospective franchise owners from the United States and abroad who are looking to get an inside look at franchising.”
Los Angeles is driven by more than its famed entertainment industry as it continues to draw in new companies, attract talented workers, and promote business ownership and franchise expansion. The region has unmatched creative, design, manufacturing and export capabilities and is poised to add more than 650,000 jobs this year and next, pushing down the current unemployment rate by nearly two percent. Los Angeles’ strong, $500+ billion economy and location makes it an ideal city for the 2017 Franchise Expo West, introducing the thriving franchise industry to hungry entrepreneurs who are eager to learn.
“The City of LA welcomes back the Franchise Expo West show,” said Doane Liu, Executive Director of Los Angeles Department of Convention and Tourism Development. “We highly value the economic impact of shows like this that stimulate the growth of new businesses in the LA area, and the prospect of more jobs that will follow. It’s a great opportunity for new entrepreneurs to receive free education about starting a franchise business too.”
Attendees are encouraged to participate in the more than 60 free educational seminars and five in-depth workshops on a variety of topics such as “The A to Z’s of Buying a Franchise,” “How to Start a Business in Los Angeles,” “Franchising Your Business,” “Choosing the Right Franchise,” etc. Last year, nearly 60 percent of Franchise Expo West attendees were interested in purchasing a franchise and of those who already were business owners, approximately 72 percent were also interested in franchise opportunities.
In addition, a special seminar hosted by VetFran titled “Opportunities for Veterans in Franchising” will encourage military veterans’ involvement in franchising. “Our Expos offer ongoing support of veterans’ initiatives and recognize their role in the growth of U.S. entrepreneurship. We also applaud LA Mayor Eric Garcetti’s goal of hiring more veterans,” adds Portesy.
The Franchise Expo West costs $10 to register in advance and $20 at the door, but those who register at www.FranchiseExpoWest.com and use promo code FPR can receive a complimentary pass to attend the show. On-site registration is also available, but pre-registration is recommended.
