Each Paciugo location makes 32 or more gelato flavors on location daily. From familiar flavors, such as Chocolate Peanut Butter and Hazelnut, to the complex, like Violet Chocolate Chip and Mediterranean Sea Salt Caramel, the chain has around 250 different recipes on file.
The Dallas-based Paciugo chain also serves a line of hand-crafted cocktails that use the concept's gelato. There are drinks such as frappes, Paciugo's "answer" to the milkshake, and frizzanti, which are made by combining three flavors of gelato with Italian sparkling water or soda.
The Affogato starts off with either Paciugo's Caffé - with espresso made from a proprietary blend of 100-percent Arabica coffee - or Cioccolata, an Italian-style hot chocolate, and is topped with any three gelato flavors and whipped cream. Both the Cioccolata and Caffé versions come in small and regular sizes. priced at $5.49 and $5.99, respectively.
