Kona Grill hires marketing VP

SCOTTSDALE Ariz. Kona Grill Inc., parent of the 24-unit American grill and sushi bar chain, has named Rachel Phillips-Luther to the new post of vice president of marketing and brand innovation.

Phillips-Luther most recently was vice president of marketing for the Fox and Hound Restaurant Group of Wichita, Kan., where she oversaw marketing for the Champps Americana, Fox and Hound Restaurants, and Bailey's Sports Grille. She also was responsible for food and beverage initiatives for those concepts.

Phillips-Luther also has held marketing roles at Sambuca Jazz Cafe and Tony Roma’s.

In addition to marketing, Phillips-Luther will oversee new product research and development along with the beverage program for Kona Grill.

Scottsdale-based Kona Grill has restaurants in 15 states.
