Wendy’s chief people officer to depart

Coley O’Brien to succeed Scott Weisberg early next year

The Wendy’s Co. chief people officer Scott Weisberg will leave the company early next year, the quick-service operator said Friday.

Coley O’Brien, vice president of human resources, is expected to succeed Weisberg as CPO in the first quarter of 2018. Weisberg has been with Wendy’s since 2012.

“Scott Weisberg has been an architect of the growth and success of our company over the last five years,” Wendy’s CEO Scott Penegor said in a statement.

O’Brien joined the company in 2007 as national director of operations training, and has been promoted through various roles over the past decade.

Penegor said O’Brien played a key role in the company’s refranchising strategy “with the successful transfer of talent and organizational capability.”
