Togo’s names chief concept officer

Industry veteran Glenn Lunde fills newly created position

Togo’s Eateries LLC has named Glenn Lunde to the newly created position of chief concept officer, the company said Wednesday.

The San Jose, Calif.-based fast-casual sandwich chain, which has 243 restaurants, said Lunde will oversee marketing, brand strategy and concept development.

Lunde served most recently as chief marketing officer for Grocery Outlet, a group of independent grocery retailers. Prior to Grocery Outlet, he served as chief concept officer at Einstein Noah Restaurant Group Inc. Earlier, he was chief marketing officer at Panda Restaurant Group Inc.

Lunde has also worked with Round Table Pizza and Taco Bell.

“Glenn has a proven track record of building national franchises into sustainable, profitable operators that achieve long-term success,” said Tony Gioia, Togo’s CEO, in a statement.

“He will be a valuable leader for our brand repositioning and concept development efforts,” Gioia added. “I envision Glenn’s role expanding over time.”

Lunde said: “As a Bay Area native, I’ve been a huge Togo’s fan for decades, and I believe the brand has a ton of untapped potential.”

Togo's was founded in 1971.
