Nation’s Restaurant News names Jenna Telesca editor-in-chief

Telesca to advance content strategy of leading foodservice media brand

Nation’s Restaurant News has named Jenna Telesca editor-in-chief, responsible for advancing the content strategy for the leading foodservice media brand.

In this position, Telesca will focus on driving editorial innovation across the multiplatform publication including the print magazine, digital properties and MUFSO summit for restaurant executives.

She will report to NRN publisher and Penton vice president Laura Viscusi.

“Jenna is a proven change agent who will position Nation’s Restaurant News for the next generation of foodservice leaders,” Viscusi said. “She is committed to editorial quality and adept at developing creative ways to connect with our readers.”

Since joining Penton in 2010, Telesca has led many editorial initiatives within Penton’s Food and Restaurant Group. As content director of food retail publication Supermarket News, she helped build SN’s digital presence in the market.

As executive editor of NRN and group content director, Telesca has overseen the newsroom since 2015, connecting the publication’s bureau chiefs across the country and improving the speed and quality of breaking news and analysis.

“Nation’s Restaurant News is an institution in the foodservice industry. Over the last 50 years, NRN and its team of veteran editors have been serving up news and analysis essential to restaurant leaders’ businesses,” Telesca said. “I’m honored to lead the editorial efforts for this respected publication and eager to continue evolving the brand for the modern restaurant executive.”

Telesca will also serve as editorial director of Restaurant Hospitality, NRN’s sister publication for independent restaurants, where she has been leading a refresh in content and design.

Over her time at Penton, Telesca has reported on foodservice, financial news, food retail and agriculture trends. She is a graduate of the University of Chicago and holds a master’s degree in writing from CUNY Queens College.
