Del Frisco’s names new Grille president

Brandon Coleman III promoted from CMO position

Del Frisco's Restaurant Group Inc. has named Brandon Coleman III president of its Grille brand, succeeding Sarah McAloon, the company said Friday.

McAloon “is no longer affiliated with the company,” Southlake, Texas-based Del Frisco’s said in a statement.

Coleman was promoted from chief marketing officer, a position he had held since late December.

“Brandon has significant industry experience and knowledge, and has already proven himself as a dynamic and forward-thinking leader who can positively impact our company,” said Norman Abdallah, Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group CEO, in a statement.

“He was instrumental in spearheading the consumer research project we completed earlier this year at Del Frisco’s Grille,” Abdallah said, “and is ideally suited to lead the brand in implementing the strategic actions that leverage these findings.”

The company said the CMO position would not be filled.

“Due to this realignment of resources, the chief marketing officer role has been eliminated, as all marketing activities for each concept will now be led by the company's three brand presidents,” Del Frisco’s said.

For the second quarter ended June 3, Del Frisco’s net income fell to $2.1 million, or 9 cents per share, from $4.4 million, or 19 cents per share, the previous year. Second-quarter revenue rose 3 percent, to $82.3 million, compared with $79.9 million the previous year.

Del Frisco's Restaurant Group has 53 restaurants across 23 states and Washington, D.C., under the Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House, Sullivan's Steakhouse and Del Frisco's Grille brands.
