NRN video of the week: Burger King recreates 'Whassup' ad to promote new LTO

Quick-service operator teams up with Budweiser to remake iconic ‘90s commercial

Burger King is partnering with Budweiser to offer the American Brewhouse King Sandwich. The new limited-offer, which debuted on June 27, features two flame-grilled beef patties topped with three half-strips of thick-cut, smoked bacon, crispy onions, tavern sauce, American cheese and creamy mayonnaise on a sesame seed bun.

To promote the American Brewhouse King Sandwich and its “perfect pairing” with a Budweiser beer, Burger King remade the beer company’s iconic “Whassup” commercial from 1999. The ad includes a cameo from the quick-service chain’s mascot — The King.

You can view the original commercial below:

The menu item is available for an unspecified amount of time at the recommended price of $6.19 at participating Burger King restaurants.

Burger King is based in Miami with over 15,000 locations across approximately 100 countries and U.S. territories.
