NRN named Neal Award finalist for best use of social media

Neal Awards finalistNation’s Restaurant News has been named a finalist for the 2016 Jesse H. Neal Award for the best use of social media among all B-to-B media brands.

The award honors a brand’s use of social media to enhance audience engagement, expand readership or improve its newsgathering and analysis of trending topics. The Neal Awards are the premiere awards in business media, presented by the American Business Media association.

“Nation’s Restaurant News has always been on the cutting edge of media, all while maintaining the highest quality editorial promise to our audience,” said Sarah Lockyer, editor-in-chief. “We’ve been honored with Neal Awards for our magazine, our website and now hold a nomination for our social media efforts, exemplifying our continued evolution to meet the new needs of our audience.”

NRN is a media leader in its use of social media, which has quickly become the most current and leading way to communicate information and engage in conversations with brand followers — all with the goal of helping NRN’s audience drive business results with needed information and analysis. In September, NRN was named one of 10 Outstanding Twitter Feeds by B2B publishers.

NRN has more than 135,000 followers on social media — outweighing all foodservice B-to-B media brands — including 40,000 on Facebook, 50,000 on Twitter and 45,000 on LinkedIn.

Each month, NRN hosts Facebook or Twitter chats on hot topics with industry influencers.

The next chat, on NRN’s 2016 class of Breakout Brands — emerging restaurants poised to impact the industry in a big way — is scheduled for Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. EST. NRN West Coast Bureau Chief Lisa Jennings will lead the chat with the executives behind the 2016 Breakout Brands, who will share their strategies for success.
