Ignite Restaurant Group widens loss in 4Q

Net income fell despite positive sales for Joe’s Crab Shack and Brick House Tavern + Tap parent

Ignite Restaurant Group, parent to the Joe’s Crab Shack and Brick House Tavern + Tap casual-dining brands, reported widened losses on Wednesday despite a slight increase in same-store sales.

For the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, Houston-based Ignite reported a loss in net income of $7.6 million, or 30 cents per share, compared with a loss of $1 million, or five cents per share, in the same period a year ago.

Revenue rose 11.1 percent, to $112.6 milli
