Sometimes the best ingredients are right in front of you.
That’s why Taco Bell is testing new mashups of its iconic favorites in select markets on Thursday.
Here’s what those restaurants will be offering from March 2 through April 8:
The Doritos Quesalupa Crunch: Available in Cincinnati, it’s a Doritos Locos Taco wrapped in a nacho-cheese-filled Quesalupa shell, or what Taco Bell calls “the ultimate collision of the Cult of Doritos and the Cult of Quesalupa.” Inside is seasoned beef, lettuce and Cheddar cheese. The item is priced at $3.49/$3.99 a la carte.
The Chicken Enchilada Burrito: Available in Flint, Mich., this involves two of Taco Bell’s Rolled Chicken Tacos wrapped in a flour tortilla enchilada-style. Guests also have the option of ordering it “Cheesy Loaded.”
Ingredients include seasoned rice, enchilada red sauce or nacho cheese sauce for the Cheesy Loaded version, as well as sour cream, a three-cheese blend and two rolled chicken tacos. It’s priced at $2.99 a la carte.
Constantine Spyrou, Foodbeast
The Caesar Crunchwrap: Available in Nashville, Tenn., this variation of the traditional Crunchwrap includes either chicken or steak, parmesan-and-corn crisps, a three-cheese blend, tomatoes and romaine lettuce with a Caesar dressing, all folded into a grilled tortilla. The parmesan-and-corn crisp discs add crunch and enhance the Caesar flavor, Taco Bell officials said. It’s priced at $2.99 a la carte.
Meanwhile, reports last week indicated the popular Naked Chicken Chalupa limited-time offer would disappear from the Irvine, Calif.-based chain’s menu in March.
However, Taco Bell CEO Brian Niccol said last month the chain is already testing two new flavors, including a spicier “wild” and milder options.
Given the popularity of the Naked Chicken Chalupa and the fact it has exceeded expectations, executives said they were confident it would return to the systemwide menu in the future.
