OpenTable to host 13-city restaurant week

SAN FRANCISCO Online reservations provider OpenTable Inc. has organized a fixed-price meal promotion set to take place Nov. 17-21 at restaurants in 13 cities across the country.

Dubbed the “Appetite Stimulus Plan,” the promotion will offer three-course meals for $24 at lunch and $35 at dinner at nearly 1,300 restaurants in Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington, D.C.

The multi-city restaurant week comes as new research indicates that agrowing number of consumers will continue to cut back on dining out as the economy wreaks havoc on their pocketbooks.

“Restaurants are at the pulse of both our cities and our economy, and in tough times, those of us in the industry need to continually look for ways to keep restaurants bustling for the benefit of our staff members and guests,” said Danny Meyer, president of Union Square Hospitality Group in New York and an OpenTable board member. “A full restaurant fuels both hope and togetherness, which is exactly what people are craving these days.”

Afull list of the restaurants participating in the promotion can be found at OpenTable’s website, www.opentable.com. The fixed-price offer does not include drinks, tax or tip.

OpenTable, founded in 1999 and based in San Francisco, provides free online reservation services for 8,500 restaurants worldwide.
