NRA names new food policy exec

The National Restaurant Association has named Joan Rector McGlockton vice president of industry affairs and food policy.

In her new role, McGlockton will oversee the NRA’s food regulatory policy and advocacy efforts, the association said Monday.

Most recently, she served as senior vice president of corporate affairs for Gaithersburg, Md.-based Sodexo Inc. During her 12 years with the onsite feeder, she also was associate general counsel, and served on the company’s senior leadership team.

Scott DeFife, the NRA’s executive vice president of policy and government affairs, said McGlockton “brings a breadth of knowledge of foodservice and restaurant operational issues to this key leadership role for the association. Food safety and nutrition are critical issues for the National Restaurant Association and our members.”

McGlockton has a bachelor’s degree from Duke University and law degree from Harvard Law School.
