NRA hires Caldeira as consultant

WASHINGTON The National Restaurant Association said it has hired veteran communications executive Steve Caldeira as a consultant to help build and maintain relationships with the manufacturer and distributor communities.

Caldeira, who most recently was the executive vice president of global communications and chief public affairs officer for Dunkin' Brands Inc., will serve as a marketing communications and alliance development consultant for the NRA and the NRA Educational Foundation through the end of the year.

He will report directly to Dawn Sweeney, president and chief executive of the NRA and NRAEF.

The NRA said Caldeira will work with the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association and the International Foodservice Distributors Association to discover areas and issues of common interest and forge stronger working relationships among the three associations.

In addition, Caldeira will help the NRA and NRAEF expand and enhance traditional sponsorship efforts, and he will work with Richard Snead, chairman of the Dine Out America campaign, to help develop media strategy for the event.
