MUFSO 2010 begins with a bang

Follow all the action as it happens on NRN.com

More than 750 restaurant operators and foodservice executives started to gather Sunday at the 51st annual Multi-Unit Foodservice Operators conference, or MUFSO, to discuss strategies for building sales, explore new policy mandates and celebrate the industry’s notable leaders.

The industry gathering in Orlando, Fla. will be held Oct. 3-5, followed by Menu Trends & Directions, a conference for food and beverage executives exploring the latest menu and consumer trends. That conference will be held Oct. 5-6.

Whether you are attending the shows or handling operations at home, catch all of the action at NRN.com/At-the-Show. Nation’s Restaurant News editors will be covering every angle through breaking news, blogs, slide shows and tweets.

"Each year I look forward to the assembly of some of the best minds in the restaurant business at MUFSO," said Don Fox, chief executive at Firehouse Subs, one of the fastest-growing chains in the industry. "'Operator' is the key word in MUFSO, and as always, attendees can be guaranteed an operations focus on the agenda … and the appearance of Newt Gingrich at this year’s conference makes it a must on my personal agenda."

MUFSO began with a look at the 2010 Hot Concepts! award winners.

The two NRN events are leading industry conferences where executives share best practices and gather the latest intel on social media, consumer trends, securing capital, menu labeling, health care reform, and more.
