McD robber a finalist in Big Mac contest

MIAMI A man who held up a McDonald's 14 years ago is reportedly a finalist in an online contest to revamp the burger giant's signature Big Mac jingle.

Tamien Bain was 14 when he and two others tried to rob a McDonald's unit in Miami, according to press reports. He was caught, tried as an adult and sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Bain told local media that he was clear about his past when he entered the contest and that music helped him turn his life around.

Bain is one of five finalists in the contest, which asked people to submit video or audio remixes of McDonald's "two all-beef patties" Big Mac jingle. People can vote online for their favorite at MySpace.com/BigMacChant. Bain's track is No. 4.

McDonald's will announce the winning song later this month and feature it in a future commercial.
