House of Blues sings praises for new information systems

News

LAS VEGAS Live Nation, owner of the House of Blues club and restaurant concept, has selected the Micros 9700 Hospitality and Retail Management System, complete with 42 workstations, for its venue atop of the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino here.

Tony DiCenzo, senior vice president of information systems and technology for Los Angeles-based Live Nation, said his company chose Micros' point-of-sale and management technology based on the vendor's software "track record" and the "low cost" and ease of management of Micros Workstation 4 hardware. He also cited Micros' certification related to multiple credit card security standards, including those of the Payment Card Industry group and Visa Customer Information Security Program.

Representatives of Columbia, Md.-based Micros said nine other domestic House of Blues locations use Micros products. They added that the package selected for Las Vegas supports reservations and table management and has food and beverage catering modules and Web reporting, auditing and analysis applications.
