Franchisee buys Buffalo’s franchisor

LAS VEGAS A franchisee of the 38-unit Buffalo’s Southwest Café chain has purchased franchisor Buffalo’s Franchise Concepts Inc. with plans of expanding its Buffalo’s Express fast-casual brand.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, and the seller was not identified.

The buyer, Works for Me Inc. here, opened two local Buffalo’s units in 2002.

Founded in Atlanta as a neighborhood wings and burgers concept in 1985 by partners David Hyde and Ralph Parrella, Buffalo’s grew to more than 50 locations when former Johnny Rockets president Ray Cabana joined the group in the late 1990s, but declined following his departure. It is now based in Marietta, Ga. Buffalo’s Southwest Cafes specialize in wings and burgers.
