Dick’s Wings & Grill parent changes name

Dick’s Wings & Grill parent changes name

American Restaurant Concepts Inc. is now ARC Group Inc.

The parent to the Dick’s Wings & Grill chain has changed its name and reincorporated in Nevada, the company said this week.

American Restaurant Concepts Inc. is now ARC Group Inc., and the company moved its incorporation from Florida to Nevada. Shareholders at the company’s annual meeting, held on June 13, approved the changes.

The move marks the company’s shift to a more diversified portfolio, after acquiring a 50-percent stake earlier this year in the franchisor of the Wing Nutz brand.

“This change from American Restaurant Concepts to ARC Group comes at a defining moment in our company’s history,” said Richard Akam, ARC’s chief executive, in a statement. “Our name change is part of a broader marketing initiative that we are implementing that will include a new corporate website and company logo. We look forward to unveiling those new measures later this summer.”

The reincorporation takes advantage of Nevada’s “advanced and flexible corporate status and well-established body of case law,” Akam said. The company will continue to be based in Lafayette, La.

The company has also applied for a new stock trading symbol with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, which is expected to be approved in 10 to 15 days, the company said. Until then, the company’s stock will continue to trade under the name “American Restaurant Concepts,” under the symbol ANPZ.

Known for its chicken wings, sandwiches, burgers, wraps and waffle fries served in a family-friendly, sports-themed atmosphere, the full-service Dick’s Wings & Grill chain has 16 restaurants in Florida and one in Georgia, along with a concession stand at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Fla.

Wing Nutz includes 10 units in Utah and one in Idaho. The brand offers a proprietary line of craft beers under the name Nut Job Beers.
