Buehler exits Romacorp’s CEO post for ‘leadership opportunity’

DALLAS Romacorp Inc., parent of the 194-unit Tony Roma’s rib chain, said president and chief executive Marc Buehler was leaving the company just two months after being appointed to those posts.

The company said Buehler was leaving to accept “another leadership opportunity in the industry.” No replacement was named.

Romacorp also said that Ken Myres, previously vice president of franchise development for Tony Roma’s, was appointed to chief operating officer. David Short was named chief administrative officer and general counsel. Myres and Short will report to chairman John Morgan.

The announcements were made at a shareholder meeting Wednesday.

Myres will be responsible for company and franchise operations, training, culinary operations, and franchise development. Short will oversee finance, legal, accounting, purchasing, human resources, technology and benefits.

Short will continue to serve as the company’s general counsel.

Romacorp Inc. operates 18 restaurants and through subsidiaries franchises 176 restaurants in 28 states.
