Beautiful Brands deploys Web-based POS management software

News

TULSA Okla. Beautiful Brands International, based here, parent of the Camile's Sidewalk Cafe chain and FreshBerry Frozen Yogurt Cafe and Coney Beach startups, said it is using Enterprise Data Manager software from Xpient Solutions LLC to update point-of-sale-system data and for POS maintenance in franchised locations worldwide.

"EDM will greatly reduce the time and effort it takes to manage price changes, limited time offers and product rollouts for all store locations. This is crucial for our global expansion strategy as our brands and products continue to grow rapidly," said David Rutkauskas, president and chief executive of BBI, whose Camile's chain has more than 90 units in 28 states and others in development in the United States and overseas.

Rutkauskas said Web-based EDM integrates with the Xpient software already used at 30 franchised locations and kicks in during routine end of day processes. Those stores are using Xpient IRIS software for POS terminals and SQL on back-office systems, he indicated, adding that other franchised locations now running Panasonic or POSItouch POS software are expected to convert to IRIS by year's end.

"Once a franchisee receives an email from BBI announcing the roll out of a new wrap, hot dog, or frozen yogurt flavor for the respective brand, when the franchisee opens the restaurant the next morning, they'll immediately see the changes already made [overnight] in their POS system," Rutkauskas explained.

By using Enterprise Data Manager and IRIS POS software from Charlotte, N.C.-based Xpient, he said Beautiful Brands International now has the means to remotely troubleshoot franchisee computer software problems and centrally manage routine POS maintenance and application updates.
