According to quick-service seafood chain Captain D’s, “Everyone should be able to eat great seafood.”

The Nashville, Tenn.-based chain has been on the comeback trail since 2011, marked by redesigned restaurants and an upgraded menu that highlights batter-dipped fish.

The menu features a wide range of seafood options, including blackened tilapia, wild Alaskan salmon, shrimp, crab and even lobster, like lobster rolls and bisque.

Founded in 1969 as “Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers,” the chain features made-to-order, wild-caught seafood from whole fillets.

The result has been growing loyalty among customers, highlighted by its status among the NRN’s 2017 Consumer Picks. That loyalty has generated a long string of same-store sales increases.

Unit volume surpassed $1 million in 2015, and increased further last year, to $1.06 million, according to NRN Top 200 data.

“Throughout our 48-year history, our focus has been making great seafood available to everyone, every day,” the company says on its website.
