GOLDEN, Colo. (Aug. 18, 2008) In a nod to the times, Boston Market has rolled out a menu of nine meals priced at $5 each.

Among the $5 offerings are a dark-meat quarter of a rotisserie-cooked chicken with one side dish; chicken pot pie; soup and a side salad; a side item sampler; the chain’s signature Chicken Carver sandwiches; and sandwich combos.

With the rollout of the new menu to all 575 of its stores, Boston Markets joins a number of chains in touting $5 values. Subway and Quiznos, for instance, now offer $5 sandwiches.

“We’ve been facing higher cost of goods like everyone else, but what we’re hoping to do here is really establish a price point for the customer to fee more comfortable coming to us more frequently,” spokeswoman Angela Procter said.
