Wolfgang Puck to open Asian restaurant in L.A.

LOS ANGELES Celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck will soon debut an Asian-inspired restaurant in The Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles, which opened recently in Los Angeles’ new downtown entertainment center, L.A. Live.

To be called WP24, the fine-dining venue is scheduled to open in April on the 24th floor of the hotel, offering a dramatic skyline view of the city. The new concept will be Puck’s second in the L.A. Live complex, where his Las Vegas-based Fine Dining Group already operates a Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill.

WP24 will feature Asian fare with a menu developed by Puck along with chef Lee Hefter, managing partner and executive corporate chef for the Fine Dining Group, as well as David McIntyre, a veteran of Puck’s iconic Spago in Beverly Hills, who will serve as the new restaurant’s executive chef.

In addition to the main dining room and a lounge, the restaurant will offer a “wine cafe,” and two private dining rooms.

The 123-room Ritz-Carlton is part of the L.A. Live complex located next to the Staples Center sports arena, the Nokia Theatre and the Grammy Museum. The complex is also home to a number of other dining spots, including a Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Katsuya, ESPN Zone, Trader Vic’s, Rock ‘N’ Fish, Rosa Mexicano and Yard House.

In Los Angeles, Puck’s Fine Dining Group also operates Spago, Cut, Chinois and Red Seven.
