Wolfgang Puck debuts retail iced coffee

LOS ANGELES Celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck is adding to his line of retail food products with the rollout of ready-to-drink iced coffee beverages.

Wolfgang Puck Culinary Iced Coffees will be available in four flavors: Vanilla Fusion, Double Blend Mocha, Crème Caramel and Café au Lait. The line, which is likely to compete with Starbucks’ popular bottled Frappuccino beverages, will be priced at $2.39 for a single bottle and $7.99 for a four pack.

The beverages are certified organic, kosher and contain 120 calories per bottle, the company said.

“The coffees selected were sourced from some of the world’s best, certified organic coffee farms in Ethiopia, Peru, Colombia and Mexico,” Puck said. “As with any good recipe, we tinkered with just the right ratio of milk, sugar and organic ingredients to create a well-balanced and refreshing coffee drink.”

The line is being manufactured, marketed and distributed through a licensed partnership between Wolfgang Puck Worldwide Inc. and Woodway Beverage Partners LLC.

The iced coffee drinks will be available in various food and convenience store retailers in Southern California and Las Vegas by the end of October, and nationwide in all natural grocers such as Whole Foods Markets by the end of 2009. The coffees also will be available in Wolfgang Puck Express, Bistro and airport locations around the country.
