Noble names Acuff CEO. Also this week: Sysco Corp., Lincoln Poultry & Egg Co., Coca-Cola, Schwan’s Foodservice Inc., J.M. Smucker Co., Mars Foodservice, and Cooper-Atkins Corp.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Noble Communications Co., an integrated marketing communications firm based here, has promoted Keith Acuff to the post of chief executive. Acuff, who most recently was chief operating officer and chief financial officer, takes over the position formerly held by Noble founder and chairman Bob Noble. In his new capacity, Acuff will be responsible for establishing the vision and direction for the company. Acuff has been with Noble for more than 17 years, and originally headed up the agency’s promotion and consumer marketing divisions.

HOUSTON — Sysco Corp. has purchased Lincoln Poultry & Egg Co., a broadline foodservice distributor based in Lincoln, Neb. Lincoln’s management team and employees will become employees of Sysco. The company got its start in 1957 as a fresh poultry and egg distribution business and has since evolved into a diversified broadline distributor.

DALLAS — Fast-casual concept Which Wich Superior Sandwiches has installed a Coca-Cola Freestyle touch-screen dispenser. Installed in the chain’s original location on Main Street in Dallas, the dispenser can offer up to 106 regular and low-calorie beverage brands. Customers have a choice of caffeinated and caffeine-free sodas, several varieties of water and other sparkling beverages. Which Wich operates 110 outlets in 19 states.

MARSHALL, Minn. — Schwan’s Food Service Inc., a subsidiary of The Schwan Food Co. here, named Michael Wiser senior marketing director of pizza. In his new capacity, Wiser will oversee SFSI’s largest product category, with responsibility for marketing and performance of Schwan’s pizza line. Most recently Wiser was director of Alliance Management for The Walt Disney Co.

ORRVILLE, Ohio — The American Culinary Federation has recognized The J.M. Smucker Co.’s products with its ACF Seal of Approval. Products that received the seal are J.M. Smucker Company’s Crisco Professional, Jif, Smucker’s JJP, Smucker’s PlateScrapers and Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk lines. A team of ACF-certified chefs tests all products.

RANCHO DOMINGUEZ, Calif. — Mars Foodservice honored Food Sales West, or FSW, with its 2009 National Broker of the Year. FSW specializes in the sales and marketing of national branded products, and serves the foodservice industry in California, Nevada, Arizona, Washington and Oregon.

MIDDLEFIELD, Conn. — Cooper-Atkins Corp., a manufacturer of food safety and environment solutions, is celebrating its 125th anniversary. David G. Cooper founded The Cooper Thermometer Co. in 1885. Over the next 125 years, the company grew until in 2001 it acquired Atkins Technical, a leader in thermocouple technology and changed its named to Cooper-Atkins. President and chief executive Carol P. Wallace has led the company since 1994.
