VIDEO: Restaurant exec on healthcare, incentives

What should President Obama do to help businesses hire workers?

John Kunkel, chief executive and founder of Miami-based 50 Eggs Restaurant Group Inc., which owns the 11-unit Lime Fresh Mexican Grill brand, told CNN Live ahead of Obama’s Sept. 8 jobs speech that healthcare, tax rates and incentives are “challenging a lot of small business owners.”

As part of its “Dear Mr. President series,” CNN solicits executives from all industries to write letters to the president with suggestions to improve business and the economy.

Kunkel added that he supports payroll tax cuts to encourage hiring. But, “At the end of the day, most of those incentives help, but they’re not taking the drastic steps needed to really create an economic environment for business to really prosper.”
