T.G.I. Friday's brings back $5 sandwiches

CARROLLTON Texas T.G.I. Friday’s said Tuesday it was reprising part of its $5 menu from earlier this year, offering its Jack Daniel’s burgers and chicken sandwiches at that price for a limited time at its 600 domestic restaurants.

The casual-dining chain said it is also offering $5 off its Jack Daniel’s grill entrees.

Friday’s offered a number of its burgers and salads for $5 from late April to May 31 amid a flurry of deals among casual-dining chains, which have seen reduced traffic because of the recession.

Friday's said the new promotion is aimed at appealing to fall sports fans.

“With football season right around the corner, we wanted to give our guests a robust environment to watch their favorite teams and games while experiencing the incredible Jack Daniel's Grill flavors for an incredible value," said Andrew Jordan, senior vice president of marketing for Friday's.

Friday’s is a division of Carlson Restaurants Worldwide. It has more than 900 restaurants in 60 nations.
