Texas de Brazil to debut express unit

DALLAS Texas de Brazil, a chain of 15 full-service Brazilian churrascaria units, will soon open an express version of the large-scale restaurant.

Company officials were not immediately available to comment on the new concept, which is still under construction in the Dallas Preston Center shopping area.

The new in-line shopping center unit will feature gourmet sandwiches and salads, extending the Texas de Brazil brand, which since its founding in 1998 has been known for endless grilled meats served by gaucho-clad waiters.

The express unit will be just a half block from such fast-casual concepts as Pei Wei Asian Diner and Chipotle. It’s also near Kent Rathbun’s upper-end casual-dining concept Blue Plate and fine-dining stalwart Tramontana.

Dallas-based Texas de Brazil, which is family owned and has locations in eight states, late last year opened its 15th store in Baton Rouge, La.
