Lawrenceville, N.J. — Anything4Restaurants.com, a division of SpecPage LLC, said it has teamed up with the 1SYNC data pool to receive electronic product data from members of 1SYNC’s product management system. 


SpecPage is a foodservice industry online marketplace containing more than 130,000 products. 1SYNC is a large certified data pool in the GS1 Global Data Synchronization Network, which enables thousands of companies to share product data on a standards-based open platform, improving efficiency and data accuracy. 1SYNC’s system includes about 6,000 suppliers and manufacturers.


“With more than 40,000 foodservice professionals visiting the site each month looking for products to purchase and distribute, we have to be sure that product data is fast, easy and accurate,” said Paul Meunier, president of Anything4Restaurants.com. “Our partnership with 1SYNC ensures that we meet those goals as well as providing 1SYNC suppliers and manufacturers with a cost-effective way to market their products.”


Fountain Inn, S.C. — D&W Fine Pack, a Mid Oaks Investments LLC portfolio company, has named Mark Staton president and chief executive, effective immediately. In his new role, Staton will oversee strategy and help guide future direction for the company. He will report to the D&W Fine Pack board.


Most recently, Staton served as chief executive of Associated Packaging Technologies, a manufacturer of CPET trays for the food industry. Staton has more than 20 years of experience in packaging, including management, sales and marketing roles at Huhtamaki in North America and the United Kingdom.


D&W Fine Pack is a leader in food packaging and foodservice disposables and is one of the largest foodservice packaging firms in North America.


Columbus, Ohio — Specialty food company T. Marzetti Co. has named Matt McSweeny regional sales manager. Before joining T. Marzetti, McSweeny was regional sales manager at Constar Inc. in Philadelphia and national account manager with Robert Rothschild Farm in Urbana, Ohio. T. Marzetti is a division of Lancaster Colony Corp.



New York — Pernod Ricard USA has named two new executives. Steve Chasen was appointed 
director on-premise trade marketing, and BJ Vorderer was named director off-premise trade marketing. Previously, Chasen was with Southern Wine & Spirits in New York, where he helped lead the Pernod Ricard USA-dedicated team within the company. Before that he was director of sales and marketing for the Rheingold Brewing Co. Vorderer has been with Pernod Ricard since 2006, first as the on-premise district manager for Illinois, and later as Illinois state manager and off-premise director of Absolut. Before that he was with Union Beverage, Southern Wine & Spirits and Shaw-Ross Importers. 


Rancho Dominguez, Calif. — Santa Monica Seafood, a family-owned and -operated specialty wholesale distributor of fresh and frozen seafood in the southwestern United States, has named Jay Gallagher regional sales manager. With more than 30 years of foodservice experience, Gallagher previously served as West Coast sales manager at Newport International. Before that he was West Coast regional sales manager for Pacific Cove Foods.


St. Louis, Mo. — Ralston Foods Inc., the manufacturer of breakfast cereals, has named John D. Gruender director of sales. In his new capacity, Gruender will oversee daily management and operations of the Foodservice Group, including direct national account sales and Ralston Foods’ broker network. Over the past 15 years, Gruender has served in a variety of roles in the food industry, including vice president of sales at Swiss American, a distributor of imported and domestic cheeses and specialty foods. Ralston Foods Inc. is a division of Ralcorp Holdings Inc.


Rosemont, Ill. — Foodservice distribution company U.S. Foodservice Inc. said it has closed on the acquisition of a 385,000-square-foot facility in the southeast Memphis industrial district. U.S. Foodservice, which had previously occupied 175,000 square feet of the building, paid about $10 million. Plans call for the distributor eventually to occupy the entire space.


Richmond, Va. — Performance Food Group said it completed a 66,000-square-foot expansion of its Performance Foodservice-Empire distribution facility in Miami. The company said the new space provides the firm with capacity for growth in the Florida marketplace. The expansion is projected to add more than 50 new jobs over the next four years. The facility currently employs more than 135 associates.


Columbia, Md. — Micros Systems Inc. said its Micros 9700 Hospitality Management System with Perpetual Inventory & Event Management has been chosen by the Washington Nationals Baseball Club LLC to help manage its food and beverage operations at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. The POS system, which includes concessions, premium restaurants and in-seat ordering, went live March 31 at the Washington Nationals first home game.
