Seattle's Best debuts self-serve espresso in grocery stores

SEATTLE Starbucks Corp.’s secondary coffee brand, Seattle’s Best Coffee, is reportedly offering automated, self-serve espresso kiosks in Albertsons grocery stores in eight states.

In partnership with Coinstar and espresso machine-maker Concordia Coffee Co. Inc., Seattle’s Best Coffee has installed machines in 86 grocery locations in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Illinois, Wisconsin, Maryland and Tennessee. The machines take cash, coins and credit or debit cards.

According to a report in the Puget Sound Business Journal, the machines grind their own beans and can produce lattes, mochas, chai teas, hot chocolate and drip coffee.

Seattle’s Best and Starbucks are both based here.
